Injured workers in California have rights. But all too often, they do not receive the workers' compensation benefits they are entitled to. This can have serious and long-lasting effects on their health, and by extension, their earning capacity. At Fowler & Ball, our mission is to help injured workers get all of the workers' compensation benefits they deserve, including benefits for medical treatment and lost income.
Responsive and results-oriented, we work hard to obtain the best possible result for every client. Although the process can be challenging, our experienced lawyers will walk you through every step of the workers' compensation process. The most important thing about the process is to make sure you get the medical treatment you need. If your workers' compensation claim has been denied, our attorneys will fight for you to make sure you get the benefits you are entitled to.
The California workers' compensation system has always been complicated, and attempted fixes over the years have only made things worse.

Workers’ Compensation Process
Report
Most workers are entitled to receive workers' compensation benefits when they are injured in a workplace accident.
Benefits can include medical costs, transportation to and from your doctor and two-thirds of your weekly income for the time you are unable to work.
In rare cases, claimants can receive Vocational Rehabilitation/Supplemental Job Displacement Benefits (SJDB).
However, in many ways, the system is stacked in favor of employers and workers' compensation insurance companies.
In addition, California workers' compensation laws and procedures are complex, so without a lawyer on your side, you may not get the benefits you are entitled to receive.

Workers’ Compensation Information
Report
People getting hurt and sick at work is extremely common.
A work injury can occur from a single accident, like dropping a heavy object on your foot or cutting your finger on a machine.
Another cause of injury is less obvious.
Repetitive stress or continuous trauma (CT).
When a worker performs the same physical action repeatedly, day in and day out, there is a strong chance of that activity resulting in a repetitive stress or cumulative trauma injury.
Carpel tunnel and wrist injuries are common for office workers, and back and other large muscle strains are more common in industrial settings.

Getting Medical Treatment
Report
As a worker covered by workers' compensation insurance, you are entitled to benefits that pay for medical care if you are injured while on the job.
However, getting medical care is another story.
Workers' compensation insurance companies want to keep their claim costs low, so they often deny claims or prematurely terminate benefits.
If you have suffered a workplace injury, you may need legal help to get the workers' compensation benefits you deserve.
At Fowler & Ball, we have more than four decades of experience in workers' compensation law.
