Courtland Kristoferson was born and raised in Denton County and has long standing ties to North Texas.
He attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a degree in Government.
After graduation, he returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and attended law school at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law where he was a Dean's Scholarship recipient as well as a founding member of the Van Sickle Family Law Clinic, which provided pro bono legal services related to family law matters for indigent members of the community.
