Family Law
Report
The Texas Family Code provides a long list of valid legal reasons for divorce which include "fault in the break up of the marriage" (which includes infidelity, domestic violence), but most divorces today are "no fault" divorces.
This simply means you just couldn't get along any more.
Generally a party will allege in his or her petition that the marriage has become "insupportable due to discord or conflict that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and that there is no reasonable expectation of reconciliation".
Estate Planning
Report
Estate Planning is the process by which a person determines how the property that he or she owns on Death is distributed.
There are two ways to do Estate Planning.
The first way is to have properly a drawn will specify how your property will be distributed.
The second way is to not have a will and let the State of Texas decide how your property will be distributed through the laws of descent and distribution.
This means that the laws of descent and distribution in effect at the time of your death will determine how your estate is distributed.
Personal Injury
Report
Auto Accidents continue to be the leading cause of death for Americans under 30.
In 2015 approximately 35,000 Americans lost their lives in auto accidents, a number which has steadily declined from its peak of over 50,000 in 1979.
Safer vehicles and tougher laws for drinking and driving are primarily responsible for the decrease in fatalities.
However, today, just as in 1979, most deaths could be avoided.
Over 2 million Americans are injured in car wrecks each year.
Most of these injuries could likewise be avoided.
