As a boutique law firm, specializing in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and elder law, we are dedicated to serving all our clients with a high level of quality, effort, and creativity. Pulling from over 200 years of combined experience, our attorneys work to give every client a sense of well-being and control over the legacy they leave behind.
Proudly serving the commonwealth with offices in Richmond, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, and Fredericksburg. I have always been overwhelmed when speaking with attorneys, but Mr. Wall explained the financial planning thoroughly. After each meeting I felt very confident we had the best estate plan. He left no stone unturned. We can't suggest 'improvements' as Mr. Dodl was so organized and clear, both in the planning session and the signing session.
Our adult children felt at ease asking questions. He made these 'decisions for our life' so easy to discuss - when it was so hard. Everything met or exceeded our expectations from the initial seminar through the final document signing conference.

About Us
Report
In 1996, Dan Carrell, having withdrawn from the partnership of the international law firm of Hunton & Williams, formed with a former colleague a small suburban firm at what is now the location of the Richmond office of Carrell Blanton Ferris.
Over the years the firm grew modestly and changed both its name and form.
The Ferris firm had been founded in 1993 by Dick Ferris.
Despite its growth, throughout its history the Firm has prided itself on its professionalism - rendering excellent legal services to clients, for reasonable fees, while maintaining an inviting camaraderie across the entire Firm - among both the lawyers and those in support of their legal practice.

Estate Planning
Report
Estate planning refers to the process of taking stock of your current financial situation, assessing your goals regarding the future, and preparing the legal documents necessary to carry out your intentions after your death.
The estate plan that is right for you depends completely upon your personal and financial goals and circumstances.
While estate planning requires an investment of time and money, the result can yield tremendous peace of mind for yourself and your family.
Estate plans are typically either will-based or trust-based.

Trust and Estate Administration
Report
Administering an estate or trust can be confusing and complicated, especially during a period when you are grieving over the loss of a loved one.
The need to handle the decedent's legal affairs - dealing with lawyers, accountants, banks, brokerage firms, creditors, courts, etc. - adds stress and anxiety.
In addition to the emotional anguish, those who are charged with dealing with the decedent's personal and financial affairs following death are often left with many more questions than answers regarding their duties and responsibilities.

Special Needs Planning
Report
Parents with minor or adult children who need (or may need) ongoing care have specific planning challenges, such as not jeopardizing access to available government support.
Trusts can be set up for the benefit of special-needs children, grandchildren, oneself or other family members, and such provisions can be incorporated into other Revocable Living Trust planning.
The most common "special needs" scenario involves children with severe physical or mental problems, which will prevent them from attaining financial independence.
